Cadernos de Fraseoloxía Galega (CFG) is a journal focused on phraseology and published by the Centro Ramón Piñeiro para a Investigación en Humanidades (CIRPH). This journal has three main objectives:
In this journal, phraseology is understood as a broad term that includes not only locutions, but also collocations, syntagmatic compound words and paroemias. In accordance with these objectives, the journal is divided into four sections:
The language of publication is Galician, following the standards established by the Real Academia Galega (Royal Galician Academy). Nevertheless, all articles submitted to the editorial department may be written in any Romance language of the Iberian Peninsula, as well as in French, Italian or English. Exceptionally, articles written in German or Russian will also be admitted. When an article passes the review process and is accepted, the journal will provide a free translation service into Galician.
Cadernos de Fraseoloxía Galega is published annually, and it had two editions until issue 17: the first edition was a hard copy published in December, and the second one was a soft copy published online in July of the following year, at the earliest. From issue 18 onwards, the journal is only published online. All published articles are available in PDF format at http://www.cirp.gal/
This journal has an international impact, as it is supported by more than 190 phraseologists from 25 countries. In accordance with the principle that all research made freely available to the public contributes to a wider exchange of global knowledge, Cadernos de Fraseoloxía Galega is an Open Access journal. Consequently, all of its content is immediately freely available, so that both readers and institutions have access to it at no cost.
Cadernos de Fraseoloxía Galega operates under a license CC-BY-NC-ND, which allows third parties to share the work, provided that its authors and original publication are indicated. However, the content of the publication may not be used for commercial purposes and cannot be altered, transformed, or built upon. This journal is published on a yearly basis.
If a contribution has received financial support (scholarship, grant, research project, etc.), it must be clearly indicated in a footnote or in the Acknowledgements section. Authors must state their funding agency, the research project code, etc.
According to common procedures for academic publications, contributions will be submitted to a double-blind peer review system carried out by two anonymous external peer reviewers, who will advise the editorial team on the relevance of the publication. In the event that improvements are suggested, they will have to accept the modifications made by the authors before the contributions are definitively accepted. Likewise, the editorial team will ensure the anonymity of authors and reviewers throughout the process. For further information on peer review, please see the “Submissions” section.
To ensure the integrity of the peer review that is performed on submissions, appropriate preventive measures must be taken in order to preserve the identity of authors, reviewers and editors. Therefore, the following steps should be completed before uploading any document:
Authors of contributions which have been suggested to be published must remove their name, institution, email address, and any other identifying information. Only contents relevant to the contribution should be included: title, abstract, keywords, text, etc. In the event that the authors of a contribution quote articles or books written by themselves, they should use the third person when talking about themselves. Moreover, they should provide the bibliographic information in the references section as if they were any other quoted author, so that the author of the contribution cannot be identified.
Reviewers and editors must also remove any identifying information from the content of the files they need to share during the review or editing process.
In the event of documents created with Microsoft Office, the identifying information of authors, reviewers and editors must also be removed from the file properties. This should be done by opening the main menu in the Microsoft application, and selecting: File > Save as > Tools > Security Options > When saving the document, remove the personal information from the file properties > Save.
In the case of PDF documents, the names of authors, reviewers and editors must also be removed from the document properties. This should be done by opening the Acrobat main menu.
Cadernos de Fraseoloxía Galega only accepts unpublished works in order to guarantee the originality of the contributions. The editorial team will take measures to identify and prevent the publication of articles where research misconduct has taken place, and in no case it will encourage or allow such misconduct. In the event that the editorial team is aware of any reports related to research malpractice, the editor will deal with such reports appropriately. Obviously, plagiarism is a fraudulent practice, and it is strictly forbidden. Texts identified as plagiarised will be removed from the journal, if they have already been published, or will not be published at all. For further information, please see the Ethics section.
In order to guarantee the long-term preservation of Cadernos de Fraseoloxía Galega, the journal uses the Institutional Library of Xunta de Galicia (the official repository of Galicia’s regional government, Spain).
